Contacts in Web2Chat are the people and companies you interact with through your platform. Web2Chat organizes all your customer interactions in one place, helping you manage conversations, track user behavior, and deliver personalized support.
This guide will walk you through the basics of managing contacts in Web2Chat, so you can start building meaningful relationships with your users and companies.

What Are Contacts in Web2Chat?

Contacts in Web2Chat include:
  1. People: Individuals who interact with your platform, such as customers or prospects.
  2. Companies: Organizations linked to multiple users, enabling you to manage group interactions and track company-level metrics.
Web2Chat automatically creates contact profiles when users engage with your platform through chat, email, or other channels. You can enrich these profiles with custom data, tags, and notes for more context.

How to Access Contacts

  1. Log in to your Web2Chat dashboard.
  2. Navigate to the Contacts tab on the sidebar.
  3. Here, you’ll see:
    • People: Lists all individual users.
    • Companies Tab: Lists all companies associated with your users.

Contact Profiles: Key Features

Each contact profile in Web2Chat includes the following sections:
1. Basic Details:
  • Name, email, phone number, and avatar.
  • Custom attributes, such as subscription plans or user preferences.
2. Activity Timeline:
  • A chronological view of interactions, including messages, tickets, and website activity.
3. Tags:
  • Add tags (e.g., "VIP," "Trial User") to categorize and filter contacts.
4. Notes:
  • Collaborate with your team by adding internal notes to contact profiles.
5. Associated Companies:
  • View and manage the company linked to the user.

How to Manage & Update Contacts

  1. Open the contact profile
  2. Click the Edit button to update details such as name, email, or phone number.
  3. Save changes to keep the profile up to date.

  1. Open the contact profile.
  2. Under the Tags section, click Add Tag.
  3. Select an existing tag or create a new one.
  4. Save to apply the tag.
