The Triggers feature from Web2Chat allows you to automatically open the Messenger and offer help based on visitor behavior—improving engagement and support interactions in real time.
Creating Custom Triggers in Web2Chat
In this section, you will learn how to configure custom triggers that prompt the Messenger to open based on your site visitors’ actions.
By setting up targeted prompts, you can proactively offer assistance, answer questions, and guide visitors toward faster resolutions—right when they need it.
Note: Triggers are a premium feature available only with the Remove Branding addon.
Step 1: Navigate to Triggers Settings
- Log in to your Web2Chat dashboard.
- Go to Settings from the left-hand menu.
- Select [WorkSpace] Data.
- Click on Triggers.
- Click the + New Trigger button.

Step 2: Configure Your Trigger
- In the popup window, fill in the following details:
- Name: Add a name for your trigger.
- Description: Briefly describe the purpose of the trigger.
- Author: Specify who is creating the trigger.
- Time Duration: Set the delay (in seconds) after which the Messenger should prompt the user.
- Add the Page URL(s) where you want the trigger to be active.
- Write a customized message that will be displayed to visitors when the Messenger opens.
- Save your trigger.

Step 3: Edit or Remove A Trigger
To edit or delete a trigger, you can:
- Navigate to the Triggers page by going to Settings--> Workspace Data--> Triggers.
- Click on the 'Edit' icon to update your trigger or the 'Delete' icon to remove it completely.
Examples of Triggers You Can Create
- Help Center Assistance: If a visitor is browsing your Help Center, you can set a 10-second delay and prompt the Messenger to ask, “Need help finding the right information?”
- Pricing Page Support: If a visitor is on your pricing page for more than 60 seconds, you can prompt the Messenger to ask, “Need help choosing the best plan for you?”
By using Triggers, you can proactively engage customers at critical moments, boost satisfaction, and reduce abandonment by offering immediate support exactly when it's needed.
